Castle Rock began with a single protected spring in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest and a family that decided the water was worth bottling exactly as it came out of the ground.
Nearly fifty years later the company is still family owned, and the springs are still the same.
The rock
Snowmelt and rain enter the mountain and disappear into layers of ancient volcanic rock, moving slowly downward for decades.
The rock removes what does not belong and gives up the calcium, magnesium and silica that give the water its soft, rounded finish.
The springs
The catchment above the springs is kept undeveloped, so the water reaching the aquifer begins clean and stays that way.
Bottling happens at the source: nothing is added, nothing is stripped out, and the profile in the bottle is the profile in the mountain.
Today
A neutral pH and a moderate mineral load make Castle Rock crisp without being sharp — a water built for long drinking rather than a single striking sip.
